How to remove trojan horse Backdoor.Generic3.SDT?
I got this trojan horse Backdoor.Generic3.SDT in my USB flash drive. Whenever I ry to open my drive from My Computer,
AVG shows a threat detected window while opening file “C:WINDOWSsystem32kas.exe” and the treat type is the trojan horse Backdoor.Generic3.SDT.
I’ve tried healing it, nothing happens; I’ve tried deleting it, nothing happens. The only option I have is to format the drive.
I’ve also tried to find the kas.exe file in the specified system32 folder, but it ain’t there. My virus database is up-to-date and nothing is happening.
To resolve this issue,following steps should b followed in sequence;
1.Press ctrl+Alt+Del and start task manager.
2.From the process tab,end the process “OfcpfwSvcs.exe”(dont mind number of of times it is running,stop all of them).
3.Now open my computer and proceed to windows folder C:WINDOWSsystem32 ,
then click “tools>folder options”,then click “view” tab,then in advanced settings make changes
so that to show hidden files and folders and to unhide protected operating system files
4.Then single click(not to open) on any folder inside “system32″ folder,then press “O” inorder to
find file “OfcpfwSvcs.exe”& delete that file
5.Now format USB drive first and then use(since usb drive is infected)
